02. Bounding Box

This is the most common annotation type. Our team uses boxes around targeted objects to mark them for computer vision. It’s quick and effective, however, it doesn't provide as much detail as other methods.

03. Oriented Bounding Box

A more accurate method of portraying objects that aren’t aligned with the horizontal or vertical axes of an image. This helps precisely mark the orientation of your object and creates accurate datasets.

04. Cuboid

This method extrapolates three-dimensional objects from images, adding depth, width, and height to them. This is achieved with 3D bounding boxes, or cuboids, that create a nuanced understanding of scenes.

05. Polygon

Used for outlining complex shapes, this method employs connecting small lines to precisely define the exact shape of your object. Often used for complex images where nuance matters, such as medical data.

06. Semantic Segmentation

Separates pixels in an image into classes for accurate annotation. Objects are carefully outlined to capture their shape, then annotators label them along with backgrounds such as the sky, ground, and so on.

07. Instance Segmentation

Further enriches training data by separately identifying each time an object occurs and highlighting its properties. So, every instance of an object will get a separate label and highlight color for accuracy.

08. Skeletal

Commonly used for recognizing humans, we attach lines to images to mark limb positions and body types. Skeletal annotation trains AI to understand things like movement, shape, and posture.

09. Key Points

This very granular method is most often used for important elements such as facial structures. Individual points are used for labeling features such as nose, lips, eyes, and so on - with specific characteristics for accuracy.

10. Lane

Annotators trace lanes of specific lengths across an image to identify common elements such as roads, railway tracks, pipelines, and other linear structures. Often employed in logistics and autonomous driving.

11. Bitmap

Links individual pixels to specific objects - allowing you to accurately mark objects in images that contain large gaps. For example, if your object is cut in half by something else in the foreground, you can accurately mark that.

12. 3D Point Cloud
